For 17 years we have celebrated the President's Remembrance Day Ball. John Newbold and his wife Nancy have hosted a night of civil war pageantry, dance and delicious food to honor the First Remembrance Day on November 19, 1863 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

The celebration of The President's Remembrance Day commemorates President Lincoln's Address during the dedication of the Gettysburg National Military Cemetery. President Lincoln paid tribute to the soldiers who fought the bloody battle of Gettysburg with these words: “It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced.”

Often the ball was held at the historic Gettysburg Hotel on the Square. With live Victorian music, John often added a theme to the ball such as Patriotic, Celtic or Masquerade. Social Hour at 5:30 PM, Three-Course dinner served at 6:30PM. Susan de Guardiola was the Dance Master. The Last President’s Day Ball was held at the Gettysburg National Park Visitor's Center with a Buffet. Susan de Guardiola was the Dance Master there also.
