The 22nd Annual President’s
Remembrance Day Dinner and Ball

in the historic ballroom of the Gettysburg Hotel (est. 1797),
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

TWO DINNERS! TWO BALLS! TWO NIGHTS OF FUN!

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Friends,
Our twenty-second annual dinner/ball will be held in the ballroom of the Hotel Gettysburg on the Square on Friday and Saturday, November 13th & 14th, 2026. We will have two great evenings of dinner, dancing, and fun this year!
In honor of the 250th birthday of the United States, the theme for Friday night’s ball will be Spirit of ’76”. Late 18th century/Colonial/Revolutionary War attire in the style of George and Martha Washington is welcome, including the comical nineteenth century practices of putting Colonial ladies’ styles over 1860s corsets & hoops or just wearing an 18th century wig with a 19th century gown. The dancing will continue to be mostly the familiar mid-19th century style, but we will include a Colonial-era country dance in honor of this theme! Important note: the theme is optional – normal period 1860s attire (military or civilian, day or evening) is always appropriate at our events.
Saturday night’s ball will be in the traditional 1860s style. Period attire (military or civilian, day or evening) of the Civil War era is required.
Each evening begins with a social hour at 5:30 PM, with dinner beginning promptly at 6:30 PM. After dinner, as the room is being readied for the Ball, there will be time to visit the sutlers and socialize. While the Victorian Photo Studio has officially closed after last year’s fire, they will be sending a photographer and backdrop one last time for beautiful portrait photos!
The Balls will begin at approximately 8:30 PM.  The fantastic musicians of Metamorpheus, returning for the third year, will provide the music and our dance mistress, Susan de Guardiola, will instruct and call for each dance. With a full dance card, you can count on the evening lasting until midnight!
Ticket price includes the social hour, a three course dinner with gluten-free; dairy-free; and vegetarian options, and a great evening of music and dance. Tickets are limited and Saturday dinner is expected so sell out, though ball-only tickets may be available at the door. Unfortunately, we have had to raise our prices this year to keep up with skyrocketing costs, but we will have special discount prices for people buying tickets for both nights as well as a special Friday night joint ticket with the Marie Antoinette Ball on November 21st!
While this is an event for adults, children may attend in the company of their families and must wear appropriate period attire as well. Children under 13 may attend the ball only (not the dinner) at no cost. There is a discounted children’s menu available for each dinner.
We have booked a block of rooms in the Hotel Gettysburg at a discount rate for those wishing to stay in the hotel and have the shortest and most convenient route to the ball. Booking is open now! See our Hotel page for details or click the button below to go directly to the booking page!
A special opportunity this year: in recognition of the great 1778 Treaty of Alliance between France and the young United States, we are offering a joint ticket with the Marie Antoinette Ball, to be held one week after ours, on Saturday, November 21st, in Severna Park, Maryland, run by regular Remembrance Day Ball attendee Kathy Clay! We have a very limited number of discount tickets for the combination of our Friday night “Spirit of ’76” ball (ball-only, not dinner) and the Marie Antoinette Ball. For those who are also involved in 18th century reenacting (Colonial, Revolutionary War, etc.) or who otherwise really like this period of costume and dance, this is a great opportunity to save a little on two great events in a row! Important note: the Marie Antoinette Ball requires formal 18th century costume! Please see their website for more information about this ball (and see the great photos from past years), and keep an eye out for the discount tickets on their site and ours to get one before they’re gone!
We look forward to welcoming you back to the Hotel Gettysburg in November. Follow our Facebook page, join our mailing list, and watch this site for more details and the opening of ticket sales in July 2026!
