Remembrance Day Dinner and Ball
in the historic ballroom of the Gettysburg Hotel (est. 1797),
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Friends,
Our twentieth annual dinner/ball will be held at the Hotel Gettysburg on the Square on BOTH Friday and Saturday, November 15th & 16th, 2024 in the main ballroom. The evening begins both nights with a social hour at 5:30 PM, with dinner beginning promptly at 6:30 PM.
After dinner, as the room is being readied for the Ball, there will be time to visit the sutlers or have your image taken by the Victorian Photography Studio, who will have different backdrops each evening.
The Balls will begin at approximately 8:00 PM. Our fantastic new dance band, Metamorpheus, will provide the music and our dance mistress, Susan de Guardiola, will provide instruction for each dance. With a full dance card, you can count on the evening lasting until midnight!
The Friday night event, a Fancy Dress Ball, offers you the opportunity to start off the weekend with the magic and mischief of masquerade costume and also allows you to take in the other events in town on Saturday, such as the Illumination at the Cemetery. The Saturday night event offers the capping of another Remembrance Day weekend with a grand celebration before returning home the next day.
Ticket prices for each evening include the social hour, a three course dinner, and a great evening of music and dance. Tickets are limited and sellouts occur every year.
Period attire (military or civilian) of the Civil War era is required of all for both events. Friday night's ball will be "fancy dress", meaning masquerade costumes (but without masks!) are appropriate, though not required. Saturday evening's ball will be a classic formal ball.
While this is an event for adults, children may attend in the company of their families and must wear appropriate period attire as well.
